Briefly: Shania Twain, 'Bad Boys II,' Jessica Simpson, Ice Cube, Steve-0

Shania Twain is nominated for seven Canadian Country Music Awards, more than any other act. Aaron Lines got nods in six categories.

The 2003 CCMA Awards will be handed out on Sept. 8 during a ceremony at the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. CMT will telecast the ceremony live in America, and the CBC will carry the program in Canada.

The 'Bad Boys II' soundtrack sold nearly 325,000 copies during its first week in stores, and will debut atop the forthcoming Billboard 200 album chart, according to industry sources. The soundtrack features cuts by Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, P. Diddy and others.

Debuting at No. 2 with sales of about 157,000 copies is "Jackpot," the debut album from rapper Chingy. Beyonce's "Dangerously in Love," slips one notch to No. 3.

Jessica Simpson will perform her single "The Sweetest Sin" (from her forthcoming album "In This Skin," due Aug. 19) and Justin Guarini will perform his single "Sorry" during the Miss Teen USA 2003 competition.

NBC will telecast the contest from Palm Springs, CA, on Aug. 12.

The Chicago Police Department issued an apology to rapper Ice Cube on Tuesday (7/22) for issuing an alert that described a man suspected in a series of sexual assaults as a black male in his mid-20s who "resembles the popular rap artist 'Ice Cube,'" according to published reports.

Steve-O (Stephen Glover), a star of the MTV series "Jackass," reportedly was arrested in the Pittsburgh area on Saturday (7/19) for allegedly urinating in front of a large crowd of people in front an autograph booth at the Lollapalooza festival. He could face a $300 fine for disorderly conduct.
