Dark rockers Evanescence have been tapped to headline the inaugural Nintendo Fusion Tour, billed as "a groundbreaking fusion of music, video gaming and culture."
Other bands scheduled to appear on the tour--according to a press release--include Cold , Revis , Cauterize and Finger Eleven . However, management for Cold said that the band has yet to be confirmed for Nintendo Fusion.
The tour is set to open on Aug. 4 in Los Angeles, and will visit 25 markets including Phoenix, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Chicago and Detroit, according to the event's official website.
Each Nintendo Fusion concert location "will feature a unique gaming experience with a host of Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance games, ranging from first-person adventures to retro favorites," a press release said.
The tour's full itinerary is still being finalized, and will be announced soon.
Evanescence's album "Fallen" peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 album chart, and currently sits at No. 11. Its single "Bring Me to Life," which features singer Paul McCoy, currently sits at No. 1 on Billboard's Top 40 Tracks chart.
Cold recently canceled its Lollapalooza appearances due to a death in the family of its temporary bass player. Its latest album, "Year of the Spider," was released in May.
Revis' album "Places for Breathing" sits at No. 8 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Finger Eleven sent a new, self-titled collection to stores on June 17.
