
On Friday night (6/20), the Country Music Television cable network debuts "Natalie vs. Toby: Both Sides of the War"--a CMT News special that examines recent drama between country stars Natalie Maines of Dixie Chicks and Toby Keith.
The feud began in 2002 when Maines criticized Keith's song "Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue," and escalated when Keith displayed at his concerts a fictitious photograph of Maines with Saddam Hussein. At the 2003 Academy of Country Music Awards, Maines wore a T-shirt with the letters "F.U.T.K."
The soundtrack to the motion picture "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," which opens nationwide on June 27, is scheduled for release on June 24.
The lead single is "Feel Good Time," performed by Pink and William Orbit. The track was written by Orbit, Beck and Jay Ferguson.
Among the album's other tracks are a cover of the Elton John-Bernie Taupin classic "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)," performed by Nickelback featuring Kid Rock, "Nas' Angels...The Flyest," performed by Nas featuring Pharrell, and David Bowie performing a new rendition of his classic "Rebel, Rebel."
Lou Reed 's Saturday (6/21) concert at San Francisco's Warfield Theater will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. Pacific Time to AOL subscribers who log onto keyword: Broadband Rocks. AOL will also stream the show on demand for seven days after the broadcast.
Founding Goodie Mobb member Big Gipp issues his debut solo album, "On Mutant Mind Frame," on July 22. The album's lead single is titled "Steppin' Out."
Representatives of the Civic Tour report that the outing's latest run--which featured New Found Glory and Good Charlotte --played to nearly 400,000 fans and sold out 34 of its 50 dates.
In connection with the tour, a dozen customized Honda Civic Si’s--each uniquely designed and autographed by either Good Charlotte or New Found Glory--are being awarded to fans. Ten cars were awarded on the tour, one was awarded on MTV's "TRL" and one will be awarded via a national online sweepstakes at civictour.com that ends on Sept. 2.
