N.E.R.D., the Roots, Talib Kweli and others hook up for summer tour

The Roots , Talib Kweli and N.E.R.D. top the bill of this summer's Sprite Liquid Mix Tour, which kicks off in August.

The month-long, 20-city run gets underway with shows in Denver on Aug. 14 and 15, and wraps up in Boston on Sept. 14. Ticket prices are set at $10, according to Sprite's website.

Organizers plan to add more acts to the roster before the tour launches.

The Roots have been on the road since early this year in support of last November's "Phrenology," which debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The music video for the group's latest single, "The Seed 2.0," is streaming at the Roots' website.

N.E.R.D.--side project of production duo Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, a.k.a. the Neptunes--is riding the success of its debut, "In Search," which it released last March. The album spawned the hit single "Lapdance," which is streaming at N.E.R.D.'s website. Williams and Hugo also turn up in a new television commercial for tour sponsor Sprite.

Kweli's latest, titled "Quality," also surfaced last November. The album features the cut "Get By," the music video for which is streaming at Kweli's website.

Before heading out on the Liquid Mix Tour, Kweli has a handful of solo performances planned.
