Elvis Costello tours North America in July

Recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Elvis Costello takes to the road this summer for a few weeks of Canadian and U.S. concerts.

The outing, which kicks off in Toronto on July 2, will feature Costello and his band the Imposter on most dates, though three late-July Canadian performances will find Costello teamed only with Imposter keyboardist Steve Nieve.

Costello's tour supports last year's "When I Was Cruel," which is the singer-songwriter's first collection of all new material since 1996's "All This Useless Beauty." The album, which surfaced in late April of 2002, debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

The "When I Was Cruel" track "45" and its companion music video are streaming at Costello's official website.

In February, Elvis Costello and his former band the Attractions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
