Recent GRAMMY® winner John Mayer and seasoned alt-rockers Counting Crows are joining forces for a co-headlining run that kicks off in early July.
The tour is scheduled to touch down in 38 cities, and the concerts are primarily booked at amphitheaters. Dates stretch into early September.
A message regarding the tour that is posted on Counting Crows' website advises fans to keep an eye on the site for information on how to "get tickets before Joe Schmoe!"
Mayer's website, meanwhile, informs readers that he and the Crows will be "adding a few great support acts" to the tour's roster. No word yet on which acts they plan to tap.
Mayer is touring behind "Any Given Thursday," a live CD and DVD that he released in February. Also in February, the singer-songwriter took home the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance GRAMMY for "Your Body Is a Wonderland," a track found on his 2001 major-label debut, "Room for Squares."
Counting Crows are supporting last July's "Hard Candy," which includes the group's hit version of Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi." Vanessa Carlton guests on the cut.
