The Beastie Boys and DJ Hurricane will play an all-ages benefit concert in Las Vegas to raise money for the family of the late Run-D.M.C. DJ Jam Master Jay.
The show is set to take place on April 25 at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. Tickets are priced at $75 and $150, and will go on sale at the venue box office and via Ticketmaster at noon Pacific Time on Friday (3/15). (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)
Last October, Jam Master Jay was shot and killed in his New York recording studio by an unknown assailant. He is survived by his wife and three children.
The Jam Master Jay benefit will be the Beastie Boys' first U.S. concert in more than four years. The next day, the group is scheduled to perform at southern Califoria's Coachella Arts and Music Festival.
In March, the Beastie Boys ended a five-year recording hiatus and released a new song titled "In a World Gone Mad" via their official website. "This song is not an anti-American or pro-Saddam Hussein statement," group member Adam Horovitz said in a statement. "This is a statement against an unjustified war."
