Another month of dates has been added to Disturbed 's upcoming Music as a Weapon tour, which now stretches into early May.
The run, which kicks off on March 6, will feature support from Taproot , Chevelle and Unloco . Additionally, Disturbed is holding a contest through which one local band from Los Angeles, Sacramento, Denver, Mankato, Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, New York and Philadelphia will be selected to open the show in its respective city. Details are posted at Disturbed's website.
Metal quartet Disturbed is supporting its sophomore effort, last September's "Believe," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album houses the hit "Prayer" and the group's latest single, "Remember."
The music videos for both tracks are streaming at the group's website.
Taproot is supporting its second album, last October's "Welcome.' Toby Wright (Alice in Chains, Korn, Metallica) produced the set, and Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) mixed.
Chicago-based trio Chevelle released its major-label debut, "Wonder What's Next," last August, while Unloco is set to deliver its second major-label effort, "Becoming I," on March 11.
Disturbed's first Music as a Weapon outing took place in the fall of 2001, and featured Drowning Pool, Adema, Stereomud and Systematic.
Following its Music as a Weapon jaunt, Disturbed is booked to appear on the main-stage roster at this summer's Ozzfest outing.
