Brad Paisley's Promotional Machine Hits High Gear

Country singer, songwriter and guitarist Brad Paisley , who received more Academy of Country Music Awards nominations than any other new artist this year, will keep a high profile on the road and in the media during the coming months.

Paisley is wrapping up a stint of dates in the opening slot of Alan Jackson 's tour. From there, he will join Reba McEntire, Jo Dee Messina and Ricky Skaggs on a country festival tour of the U.K. and Ireland. This summer, Paisley will be a fixture on the fair circuit, filling in the gaps in his calendar with club gigs.

The gold-certified debut album "Who Needs Pictures" has landed Paisley four ACM nominations (the awards will be doled out on May 3). His No. 1 hit "He Didn't Have to Be" spawned nominations in Song of the Year, Single of the Year and Video Of the Year categories. He is also nominated in four TNN Music Awards categories.

''He Didn't Have to Be,'' a tribute to a stepfather from a stepson, was co-written by Paisley and his best friend, Kelley Lovelace . Lovelace's stepson was the inspiration for the song.

Last weekend, Paisley played the Grand Ole Opry for 25th time since his debut on Memorial Day weekend, according to a press release issued by his publicist.

Paisley will be the subject of upcoming print features in TV Guide, US Weekly and USA Weekend, and will also be the subject of television profiles on the CNN cable network's ''Showbiz Today'' and on the syndicated program ''Access Hollywood.''
