Tenacious D has signed on to play four Midwestern dates on Kid Rock 's upcoming U.S. tour. The comic rock duo is also plotting its own headlining run.
Fans can catch Tenacious D at Kid Rock's late March stops in Indianapolis, Louisville, Kansas City and St. Louis, according to Epic Records. Kid Rock's tour in support of his recently released album "Cocky" (Atlantic) kicks off on Feb. 22.
Tenacious D will also announce soon the details of a headlining tour that will feature "special guests," according to Epic.
The duo's self-titled debut, produced by the Dust Brothers, features appearances by Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Page McConnell (Phish), Warren Fitzgerald (the Vandals) and Steve McDonald (Redd Kross).
Long considered a novelty act, Tenacious D--actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass--got its start on HBO. Black has appeared in a number of feature films, including "High Fidelity," "Shallow Hal" and "Orange County."
