Rush puts the final touches on new studio album
Canadian power-trio Rush has completed the recording of its 17th studio recording. The as-yet untitled album is scheduled to reach stores in the spring, according to Atlantic Records.
The band recently wrapped up its recording sessions in Toronto, and is now mixing. Rush--vocalist-bassist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson and drummer Neal Peart--produced the album with engineer Paul Northfield (Marilyn Manson, Hole).
The album marks Rush's first all-new collection in more than five years. The band's latest studio release was 1996's "Test for Echo" (Atlantic/Anthem). In 1998, the band released the live set "Different Stages."
According to Atlantic, each of Rush's 22 albums have been certified gold or better by the Recording Industry Association of America.
