Travis Tritt sets up next leg of ongoing tour

Taking a cue from the title of his latest album, "Down the Road I Go," Travis Tritt plans to resume his U.S. tour in early 2002. The country singer's road trip now has dates scheduled into July. The tour began in August 2000.

"Down the Road I Go," released in October 2000, spawned the hit single "Best of Intentions." Recently platinum-certified, the album debuted at No. 8 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, and now sits at No. 24.

Tritt's latest single, "Love of a Woman," is the No. 12 track on Billboard's latest Top Country Singles chart, on which it peaked at No. 2 last month.

Streaming-audio clips of both "Best of Intentions" and "Love of a Woman" are available at Tritt's official website.

"Down the Road I Go" is Tritt's first album for Columbia/Nashville, to which he jumped after 10 years on Warner Bros.

On Saturday (12/22), Tritt will host a "Best of the Opry" special for the CMT network.

In February, Tritt will perform at the Grand Ole Opry to mark his 10th anniversary as an Opry member, according to his official website.
