Aerosmith postpones concert due to mishap

The latest snag to hit the Aerosmith tour occurred on Saturday (12/1) in Birmingham, Ala., when a giant video screen fell from the venue ceiling while the band's crew was setting up the stage for that night's performance.

According to a group spokesperson, the band's crew was loading gear into the venue when the JumboTron screen that hangs from the ceiling in the middle of the venue came crashing down. No one was hurt, the spokesperson said, but the group had to postpone the show as a result. A make-up date has not yet been scheduled.

The screen was not part of the group's traveling production, but rather belonged to the venue, so no subsequent dates have been affected.

Early last month, the group's tour was plagued with a spate of cancellations when singer Steven Tyler fell ill.

The group's 2002 tour itinerary continues to grow, and now extends until Jan. 13, when the band will play at the Great Western Forum near Los Angeles.

Aerosmith's tour continues on Monday night (12/3) in Champaign, Ill.
