The confirmed itinerary for Ratdog 's fall tour -- which is scheduled to visit 27 cities by Dec. 2 -- has been released by the band's representatives. The final routing shows the tour opening on Oct. 21 in San Diego and working its way east to close with shows in three Florida cities.
Ratdog -- led by former Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir -- is also expected to release its first album this fall. The band, which had been a side-project of Weir's even before the death of Jerry Garcia, premiered several new songs that featured lyrics by John Barlow and Gerrit Graham this spring.
Denver's Paramount Theater, The Fillmore in San Francisco, and Electric Factory in Philadelphia are each scheduled to host the band for two nights.
In other Dead-related news, fomer bassist Phil Lesh will tour with Bob Dylan beginning in late October. Lesh has been on the road with an ever-changing lineup of musicians this year who are collectively billed as Phil Lesh & Friends.
Lesh & Friends also have some shows scheduled without Dylan. The group has sold out a three-night stint Oct. 7-9 at San Francisco's Warfield, and it's also set to play three nights at The Fillmore in Denver Oct. 21-23.
