Megadeth extends 'Hero' outing

Veteran metal band Megadeth , which launched a U.S. tour in early September, has added dates to the run that will keep it on the road through early November. The group is touring behind this year's "The World Needs a Hero."

As it has done throughout its tour, the band will continue to give fans in each market an opportunity to pick the songs that it will perform. Set lists can be submitted via the "Choose the Set" contest at the band's official website. Winning submissions will be rewarded with prizes that include a grand prize of being the group's "roadie for a day."

Earlier this month, Megadeth released a home-video edition of its April 2000 episode of the popular VH1 "Behind the Music" series. The episode is available in both DVD and VHS format, and contains more than an hour of previously unreleased footage, as well as an uncensored version of the group's video for its recent single, "Moto Psycho," according to the band's website.

Released in May, "The World Needs a Hero" debuted at No. 16 on the June 2 edition of the Billboard 200 album chart, but dropped to 59 the following week, and dipped to No. 192 in its sixth week of release before dropping off the chart. The album's first single, "Moto Psycho," peaked at No. 22 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
