Nickelback headlines this fall

Canadian rock act Nickelback has begun a series of dates with up-and-comers Seven Channels. The tour continues on Thursday (9/27) in Chattanooga, Tenn., and is scheduled to run through mid-October.

The band Default, also from Canada, will join the tour on Oct. 1.

The itinerary includes performances as part of the KEDJ-FM festival in Peoria, Ariz., with Staind and Pennywise, as well as Sammy Hagar’s birthday party on Oct. 13 with Godsmack and Jerry Cantrell.

Nickelback's latest record, "Silver Side Up" (Roadrunner/Def Jam), debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart. In Canada, it debuted at No. 1, selling about 44,000 copies, according to a press release. The first single, "How You Remind Me," went to No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks and Modern Rock Tracks charts.

Dallas-based rockers Seven Channels released its self-titled debut on Palm Pictures on Aug. 21. Its first single, "Breathe," is available via download.

Default releases its debut, "Fallout" (TVT Records), on Oct. 2. The album was produced by Rick Parashar (Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains) and Nickelback vocalist Chad Kroeger.

Nickelback and Seven Channels opened for 3 Doors Down on their summer tour.
