Tori Amos, Alanis Morissette Tour Adjusts Itinerary, Sets Advance Ticket Sale

Tickets for the upcoming Tori Amos and Alanis Morissette co-headline tour will be made available through a web site established specially for the tour, according to a press release issued Friday by Morissette's publicists. The statement also noted a few changes to the tour's itinerary, adding a show in Saratoga Spring, NY, and changing venues in Florida.

The web site set up for ticket access, alanisandtori.com, will officially launch on May 21st. The site, operated by tour co-sponsor MP3.com, on Monday morning had an old itinerary listing and indicated that the tour would launch on August 17th, both contrary to information distributed by Morissette's press reps.

Opening acts on the ''5 1/2 Weeks Tour'' will be selected in each city from artists featured on the MP3.com web site. In advance of the announced August 18th tour launch, the tour site will feature a live version of Morissette's Are You Still Mad and a recording of Amos' Honey.

The press statement noted that both songs would be available in a streaming format, suggesting that an MP3 version of the songs would not be available. Record labels have moved in the past to block artist-endorsed distribution of MP3 downloads, complaining that the format makes unauthorized copying and distribution of copyrighted material too easy.

As the tour begins, the tour site will be updated to feature tour diaries, contests for tour memorabilia and pictures from the tour, according to the press release.

The latest itinerary moves the second stop on the tour from the Orlando Arena to Tampa's Ice Palace and adds an August 29th stop at the Saratoga Perfoming Arts Center.

Further details on the advance ticket sale process were not immediately available.
