Ozomatli prepares for album release with month-long tour
The nine-piece Afro-Latin band Ozomatli has kicked off a month-long headlining tour in support of its forthcoming album "Embrace the Chaos," which hits stores on Sept. 11.
The jaunt, which kicked off on Sept. 2 in Snowmass, Colo., continues tonight (9/5) in Lawrence, Kan., and wraps up on Sept. 30 in Indianapolis.
"Embrace the Chaos" (Interscope), which includes songs in Spanish and English, travels through the genres of cumbia, dub and hip-hop. It features guest appearances by will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas, Common and De La Soul. Three songs on the album were produced by Los Lobos' Steve Berlin while the rest was handled by knob-turners Mario C. and Bob Power.
