Eminem concert interrupted due to crowd crush

Police in Scotland temporarily stopped Eminem ’s Saturday (8/25) performance at a music festival after 45 people were injured in a crowd rush, according to published reports.

The crowd reportedly surged forward as Eminem came on stage. The rapper was asked to stay backstage while the injured were removed from the audience. None of the injuries were serious. Eleven people were taken to local hospitals, where they were treated and released. The rest were treated in first-aid tents at the concert site.

The Associated Press quoted a police spokesperson as saying, “Eminem and his band did all they could to help the situation and we are grateful for his support.”

After about a 30-minute break, Eminem returned to the stage and completed his performance.

About 30,000 people attended Saturday’s concert, the first day of the two-day Gig on the Green festival. Headlined by Eminem, Saturday’s lineup also included performances by Marilyn Manson, Papa Roach, Queens of the Stone Age, the Cult, hed (pe), Staind, Alien Ant Farm and Eminem’s side project D12.
