The resumption of Backstreet Boys ' summer tour--which was put on hold earlier this month when member A.J. McLean checked himself into a rehabilitation clinic--has been pushed back two more weeks, the group announced on Tuesday (7/31). McLean is undergoing treatment for depression, anxiety and alcohol abuse.
On July 9, the group postponed most of the remaining dates on its summer tour. The group originally hoped to resume the tour on Aug. 7, but said that further postponements were possible if McLean needed more time. The tour is now scheduled to resume on Aug. 24 in Milwaukee, and will conclude on Oct. 20.
"A.J.'s initial treatment is going very well," Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson said in a statement. "His doctors have suggested it would be in A.J.'s best interest to take an additional two weeks in transitional care."
Tickets already purchased for the postponed shows (July 9-Aug. 22) will be honored for the rescheduled dates, and refunds will be available at the point of purchase.
