Indigo Girls add dates to acoustic tour

Indigo Girls are filling out their summer tour itinerary, which now stretches into early August. Indigo Girl Amy Ray then takes to the road with her side project, the Butchies.

The duo of Ray and Emily Sailers will kick off their acoustic tour on July 13 in Denver. Indigo Girls released "Retrospective" (Epic) last October, a compilation featuring 14 previously released tracks and two new songs.

When the tour ends, Ray will rejoin her band the Butchies for a run of dates, including an Aug. 11 visit to the Michigan Womyn's Festival and an Aug. 16 performance as part of Midwest Ladyfest Chicago. The four-day fest in Chicago showcases the work of female artists, performers, musicians and activists, according to its official website.

Last March, Ray released her debut solo album, "Stag" on her own Daemon Records. The label is a not-for-profit organization that Ray founded in 1990.
