update: Aerosmith has added more dates to its summer run, tickets to all of which are set to hit box offices this weekend. The band has also revealed plans to hold an online pre-sale for certain shows several days before the tickets become available at traditional outlets.
On Wednesday morning (4/25), tickets to 16 of Aerosmith’s shows--including a dozen newly added stops--will be made available via the online pre-sale, according to tour organizers. Fans who register online now will receive a password that will grant them access to the pre-sale. More details can be found at the pre-sale website.
Prior to the June 6 tour kick-off, Aerosmith is slated to perform at New York-area radio station Z100’s annual Zootopia festival. The event is set to take place on June 1 at New York’s Nassau Coliseum, and will also include performances from Shaggy, Pink, the Corrs, 3LW, Lifehouse, O-Town, Jessica Simpson, Nelly Furtado and Eden's Crush, according to a press release.
Fuel , which is touring in support of last year’s “Something Like Human” (Sony/550), has been tapped to open for Aerosmith’s upcoming summer outing. Prior to that jaunt, the group has lined up a series of college and radio-festival dates that begin on Wednesday (4/25).
“Hemorrhage in My Hands,” the first single from “Human,” spent three consecutive months in the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart, according to the Fuel’s publicist. The track is down to No. 15 on the latest edition of that chart, while the album’s latest single, “Innocent,” is up to No. 4.
