Roger Waters will play a twenty-date North American tour beginning on July 23rd, according to a statement released Tuesday (4/20) by his label, Columbia Records. The tour will focus on material from Waters' Pink Floyd years with some solo work included.
Waters' band for the tour will include Jon Carin on keyboards, tour veteran Andy Fairweather-Low and Doyle Bramhall II on guitars, drummer Graham Broad and Katie Kissoon on backing vocals.
The name of the tour, ''In The Flesh,'' is also the title of the first track on Pink Floyd's massively successful album The Wall, which spawned both a noted film and a rarely-performed but legendary concert production. The long-rumored outing comes amidst Waters' ongoing work on an English / French opera. A second leg of dates focusing on the West Coast is expected to take plce in the spring of 2000.
Ticket sales for the first stop on the tour are scheduled to begin this weekend, with most of the remaining itinerary tentatively set to follow suit in the coming two weeks.
