A September release date has been set for a new album by jazz pianist and vocalist Diana Krall , and the Vancouver native has assembled her touring plans for much of 2001.
According to her official website, Krall will play dates in Hong Kong and Malaysia in early May, and will return to the North American tour circuit in time for a May 12 show in Gravenhurst, Ontario. Krall plans to tour her native Canada in October, and a European tour will follow. Itineraries for those two tour legs haven't been finalized.
Krall hasn’t released a new album since 1999’s “When I Look in Your Eyes” (Verve), which earned Krall her first Grammy Award, in the Jazz Vocal Performance category. The album charted at No. 1 on Billboard’s year-end jazz chart in 2000 and at No. 2 on the same chart in 1999.
In 1998, her album “Love Scenes” was No. 2 on Billboard’s year-end jazz chart.
