Midnight Oil has pulled out of this summer's planned Great Australian Bite tour with INXS and Men at Work , forcing the cancellation of the jaunt.
Midnight Oil posted a notice on its official website: "We've withdrawn from the Great Australian Bite tour due to unforeseen circumstances. We are planning to return for a global tour including U.S.A. and Europe and South America in October and November with different guests."
INXS put a short note on its website with information about how to obtain refunds.
Men at Work's lead singer Colin Hay is taking the opportunity to embark on an acoustic tour, which kicks off April 21 at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, Calif. During the jaunt, he will make a June 5 appearance on "The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn." Hay's complete itinerary couldn't be confirmed by press time.
Hay is scheduled to release a solo album, "Going Somewhere" (Music Blitz) on April 24. He has also re-recorded a version of his band's hit "Down Under" for the forthcoming film "Crocodile Dundee III."
