Eric Clapton extends North American run into August

Eric Clapton has augmented his previously announced May and June U.S. tour dates with a second U.S. leg that will kick off in mid-July and run through mid-August. The legendary guitarist is touring in support of his recently released album, “Reptile.”

Included in the second leg of Clapton’s upcoming run is a stop in Vancouver, British Columbia, the second of only two Canadian stops planned during his North American outing.

In addition to the new July and August tour dates, a third night has been added to Clapton’s late-June engagement at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

“Reptile” (Reprise) hit stores on March 13 and debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album is Clapton’s first collection of new material since 1998’s “Pilgrim,” and is the follow-up to last year’s “Ridin’ with the King,” a collaboration that featured Clapton and blues legend B.B. King covering classic blues songs.

“Superman Inside,” the first single from “Reptile,” is at No. 24 on Billboard’s latest Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
