'NSync changes tour schedule to accommodate production plans

update: ‘NSync has made a number of changes to its upcoming tour itinerary--including pushing back the tour’s start date by several days--to allow more time for the completion of the group’s stage production. Other changes include the addition, cancellation and rescheduling of various dates.

The group’s outing--which was originally scheduled to begin in Miami on May 12--will now start on May 18 in Jacksonville, Fla. The Miami stop has now been rescheduled for Aug. 2. Also, a planned May 15 Tampa date has been moved to July 31.

A May 24 Atlanta date is now set for Aug. 11, and a Louisville, Ky., date has been pushed up a day to Aug. 9.

In addition, the group’s July 26 stop in Wisconsin--previously set for Green Bay--has been moved to Milwaukee, and an August 18 stop in Memphis has been replaced by a performance in Pittsburgh.

Dropped from the band’s itinerary altogether is a May 22 stop in Charlotte, N.C., and a July 31 show in Las Cruces, N.M.

An August 22 stop in New Orleans has also been added to the group’s run.

Ticket-holders may obtain refunds for the canceled shows from their point of purchase, according to SFX Entertainment.

The stage production for ‘NSync’s upcoming PopOdyssey tour requires 88 trucks to carry all of the materials, SFX said in a press release announcing the scheduling changes.

‘NSync is currently working on the follow up to last year’s multi-platinum “No Strings Attached” (Jive). The new album will be titled “Celebrity” and is set for release on June 26.
