"Pearl Jam : Touring Band 2000," a new DVD featuring almost three hours of “live and montage” footage culled from Pearl Jam’s 2000 tours of the U.S and Europe, is due in stores on April 10, according to Epic Records.
The two hours of live footage feature 28 full-song performances that were filmed at various stops on the band’s 48-city U.S. tour. Members of the band’s crew shot the performances without the aid of directors or producers.
The DVD will also include 50 minutes of bonus features, including footage from the band’s 2000 European tour, backstage scenes, previously unreleased music, and a previously unreleased video for the song “Oceans.”
According to Epic, Pearl Jam has long recorded its shows for archival purposes. The band posted 30-second video clips to its website over the course of the 2000 tour.
"The band liked what they saw, and the idea of creating a mock set list of songs from different cities on the tour and releasing them via DVD came up,” band manager Kelly Curtis said in a statement.
Members of the band’s Ten Club fan club will be able to purchase the DVD from the band’s official website beginning on April 3, according to Epic. A VHS version of the package will also be released.
