
Major ticketing announcements are growing more scarce as the holidays approach, but several notable on-sales are scheduled to take place in the coming days. Backstreet Boys have added nights in some cities, and tickets for various Green Day and Barenaked Ladies performances continue to hit the market. Meanwhile, Julio Iglesias has set a February concert date in Miami.
Strong ticket sales for Backstreet Boys’ “Black & Blue” tour have prompted concert promoters to add additional nights in four markets this week. Tickets for three shows go on sale Saturday (12/16).
Tickets for new shows in Sacramento, Calif. (March 4) and Las Vegas (March 9) go on sale at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. Tickets for the new Oakland, Calif., show (March 1) go on sale Sunday (12/17) at 10 a.m. (Ticketing for the Oakland show will be handled by Bass Ticketing outlets and Tickets.com.) Tickets for a Jan. 24 tour stop in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., go on sale at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
The Backstreets’ “Black & Blue” album will fall to No. 2 on next week’s Billboard 200 album chart, slipping behind the the Beatles “1” set.
Backstreet Boys will sing the national anthem prior to Super Bowl XXXV at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium on Jan. 28, the NFL announced Thursday (12/14).
Barenaked Ladies will bring their tour to the Northeastern U.S. in mid-February. Tickets will hit the market at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday (12/16) for the tour’s stops in three markets: New York City, Richmond, Va., and Rochester, N.Y.
Tickets for many of the dates on Green Day’s winter 2001 tour are already on sale, and on-sales are set to begin in at least four other areas in the coming days.
A 10 a.m. Eastern Time Friday (12/15) on-sale time has been set the tour’s Grand Rapids, Mich., show. Meanwhile, tickets hit the market at 10 a.m. Eastern Time for the pop-punk trio’s Pensacola, Fla., and Charlotte, S.C., concerts. Finally, a 10 a.m. Central Time on-sale time has been set for Green Day’s Grand Rapids, Mich., appearance.
Latin crooner Julio Iglesias has scheduled a Feb. 10 concert at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Fla. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday (12/15), and they’ll probably go fast.
