Briefly: Pearl Jam, Snoop, Barenaked auction, COC, Whitney, Mike Wallace sings?

Red Hot Chili Peppers will be on the bill for Pearl Jam ’s tour-ending shows on Nov. 5 and 6 in Seattle, according to Pearl Jam's Rumor Pit website. Supergrass will open on Nov. 5, and Wellwater Conspiracy will open the Nov. 6 show.

Snoop Dogg will release his fifth album, the Dr. Dre-produced “Tha Last Meal” (Priority/No Limit), on Dec. 19. The new album features guest appearances by Master P, the Eastsidaz, Nate Dogg, Eve, Kokane, Lady of Rage, MC Ren, George Clinton and others.

Marijuana-possession charges against Whitney Houston will be dismissed in three months if she meets undisclosed, probation-like terms, The Associated Press reported. Security officials at Hawaii's Keahole-Kona International Airport seized a bag that allegedly contained a half-ounce of marijuana during a Jan. 11 search of Houston’s baggage.

Crusty 60 Minutes reporter Mike Wallace will (possibly) show his tender side on a new “swinging big-band-style” duet with Pat Harris, a PBS researcher who records under the name Pat. [Patperiod]. The Pat.-penned and produced single, titled “The Girl (She’s Mine),” will be sold through Amazon.com beginning on Nov. 14.

Barenaked Ladies will contribute concert tickets, memorabilia and other items to a charity auction that will take place on Amazon.com from Nov. 6-17. Proceeds will go to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation in Toronto, Ontario, benefiting the facility where Barenaked Lady Kevin Hearn received a successful bone marrow transplant for treatment of leukemia in 1998.
