McGraw and Hill extend tour into December

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have once again extended their successful Soul 2 Soul tour, according to the tour’s official website. The husband and wife duo--who began the jaunt as a summer outing last July--now have U.S. dates scheduled until Dec. 2.

The Soul 2 Soul tour’s new leg will kick off in Cincinnati on Nov. 24, followed by November stops in Charleston, W.V.; Madison, Wis.; and East Rutherford, N.J. December dates are then set for Dec. 1 in Baltimore and Dec. 2 in Richmond, Va. More dates are expected.

The duo's current tour features complete sets by each artist, as well as several duets by the married couple throughout the night.

McGraw and Hill continue to lead the pack in terms of box office success for a touring country act this season. Their tour has grossed an average of $753,630 per city, and has played before an average of about 15,700 fans per city, according to Pollstar. That puts them ahead of Dixie Chicks, who follow with an average of $587,187 and 14,200 fans per city.

Earlier this month, McGraw took home the Country Music Association’s Male Vocalist of the Year award for the second straight year, while Hill won the Female Vocalist of the Year award.

McGraw is touring in support of his multi-platinum, 1999 release, “A Place in the Sun.” He plans to release a greatest hits album next month, according to his official website. The disc is set to hit shelves on Nov. 21.

Hill is touring in support of her 1999 release “Breathe,” which was certified quadruple-platinum earlier this month by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipping over 4 million copies. The single for the album’s title track, meanwhile, was gold-certified in August by the RIAA for shipping over 500,000 copies.
