Rock outfit Daughtry will embark on a US club tour this summer, performing for the first time new material from the band's upcoming sophomore album, "Leave This Town."
The rockers--season five "American Idol" finalist Chris Daughtry, bassist Josh Paul, drummer Joey Barnes and guitarists Brian Craddock and Josh Steely--will kick off the intimate trek Aug. 2 in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The 13-date summer run will work its way from the East Coast to the West, wrapping up Aug. 22 in Las Vegas. Details are below.
"This club tour is a thank you to our loyal fans," frontman Chris Daughtry said in a press release. "It's a great way for them to see us up close and, more importantly, at a cheap price."
The first 50 fans in each market who pre-order the new album at the band's website will receive a free ticket to their local Daughtry show.
For the remaining fans, tickets for the summer shows go on sale July 11, with a limited number of VIP packages available through pre-sales, which take place July 8-10.
The US jaunt will follow the July 14th release of "Leave This Town," the band's long-awaited second album. The group's self-titled debut surfaced in 2006, peaking at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and selling more than five million copies worldwide.
Daughtry debuted the new studio effort's first single, "No Surprise," live on "American Idol" in May. The song, which is currently streaming at the band's MySpace page, peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100.
According to a press release, an extensive North American tour is slated for the fall.
