Currently working their way through a European tour itinerary, classic rockers Journey will be back on US soil next month, and have penciled in a number of new dates in anticipation of their imminent stateside outing.
Since last check, the group's US roadtrip--which gets underway in mid-July--now features about a dozen new dates, most of which are set in September and extend the outing through the end of that month. Details are included below.
Led by new lead singer Arnel Pineda, Journey continues to back last year's "Revelation," a triple-disc package that features one set of 11 re-recorded hits sporting Pineda's vocals, one collection of new material, and one DVD of the group's March 2008 performance at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
Pineda, whom guitarist Neal Schon discovered while surfing YouTube, replaced former singer Jeff Scott Soto in late 2007. Soto himself had replaced the band's previous lead singer, Steve Augeri, a year earlier.
Journey remains best known for its string of '70s- and '80s-era hits with original vocalist Steve Perry, which include "Don't Stop Believin'," "Wheel in the Sky," "Any Way You Want It," "Faithfully" and "Open Arms." Perry jumped ship in the late '90s.
