Brad Paisley gears up for more shows

Brad Paisley 's break from the road will soon be over, and the hard-touring country artist will be back at it full throttle when he launches his "American Saturday Night Tour" later this week.

Paisley is due to return to the stage Friday (6/5) in Charlotte, NC, the first of more the 40 cities on the performer's schedule. His itinerary, which is included below, stretches well into October.

Joining Paisley on the "Saturday Night Tour" will be fellow country singers Dierks Bentley and Jimmy Wayne.

"There's something special about a Saturday," Paisley said in a prepared statement while explaining the tour's name. "That is, you didn't have to work ... you don't have to work the next day ... you're getting over whatever happened at work or whatever happened in your week ... and hopefully you're taking a little break from reality. And any time we fire up this show--whether it's a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday--it's going to be officially Saturday night when we start. And it's not 'not Saturday night' until you leave."

Paisley--whose previous outing, dubbed the "Paisley Party Tour," wrapped up in March--continues to support his latest album, last year's "Play." The set features "Then," which recently became Paisley's 10th consecutive song to reach No. 1 on the country chart. The cut also holds the distinction of being the fastest-rising chart-topper of Paisley's career, according to a press release.
