Umphrey's McGee continues roadwork behind 'Mantis'

Umphrey's McGee will remain on the road through early September in support of the band's recently released album, "Mantis," and the forthcoming live DVD, "Umphrey's McGee - Live."

The in-progress trek continues tonight (5/30) with a gig at Columbus, OH's Newport Music Hall, followed by a slew of festival gigs nationwide, including the High Sierra Music Festival (7/2), Rothbury (7/3-5), All Good Music Festival (7/11), Forecastle Festival (7/12) and 10,000 Lakes Festival (7/25), among others. A handful of headlining club and theater performances are sprinkled throughout the 25-date run. The full schedule is below.

Along with the traditional headlining shows, the jam band will also kick off a couple of summer baseball games. The sextet will sing the National Anthem and "God Bless America" at Chicago's Wrigley Field Sunday (5/31) as the Cubs take on the LA Dodgers, and again June 8 at US Cellular Field when the Chicago Cubs host the Detroit Tigers. The latter, officially dubbed "Umphrey's McGee Fan Appreciation Night," will also include a three-song acoustic set performed at home plate.

Umphrey's McGee continues pounding the pavement behind the group's fifth studio effort, "Mantis," which surfaced in January. A live DVD, simply titled "Umphrey's McGee - Live" and recorded during their 2007 performance for PBS's "Soundstage," drops June 2. The disc includes a 13-song concert, as well as six other songs not shown during the PBS broadcast, which aired last February.
