Indie-rock trio Girl In a Coma will canvas the US this summer behind its forthcoming album, "Trio B.C."
The band of sisters will kick off the 38-city outing with a hometown show May 29 in San Antonio, TX, and work their way through the South and up the East Coast through mid-June. The run then turns west, hitting cities throughout the Midwest and along the West Coast before finishing up Aug. 25 in El Paso, TX. Dates are below.
The Texas-based punk rockers--singer/guitarist Nina Diaz, drummer Phanie Diaz and bassist Jenn Alva--will drop their second album, 'Trio B.C.," on Joan Jett's Blackheart Records June 2. The new studio effort's title pays homage to the trio's grandfather, who had a Tejano band of the same name back in the '50s, according to a press release.
Joan Jett and Kenny Laguna produced several tracks on the forthcoming album, including "Joannie in the City," which features Jett on guitar and background vocals. The new record also holds "Ven Cerca," a Los Spitfires cover that marks the trio's first recorded Spanish song.
"Trio B.C." follows the band's 2007 debut, "Both Before I'm Gone," which spawned the single "Clumsy Sky," as well as the chart-climbing title track. The family band spent part of 2007 opening for Morissey and snagged a support spot on Cyndi Lauper's 2008 True Colors Tour.
