Backstreet Boys have settled on “Black & Blue” as the title of their forthcoming album, which is due in U.S. stores on Nov. 21. The album’s first single and video, “Shape of My Heart,” will be released in late October.
“Black & Blue” (Jive) is the follow-up to the Backstreets’ 1999 release “Millennium,” which has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, according to the group’s publicist, with more than 12 million copies sold in the U.S.
The promotional groundwork for the new album’s release began last month when participating Burger King restaurants in the U.S. and Canada began selling three exclusive Backstreet Boys CDs and a video. The group also appears in Burger King commercials.
Backstreet Boys plan to open a world tour in early 2001. In support of “Millennium,” the Backstreets’ completed two sold-out North American treks, as well as a sold-out 42-city European tour.
