Spooky rocker Marilyn Manson will headline Freakers Ball 2000 at the Kansas City International Raceway on Halloween. Supporting acts will include Union Underground, Godhead and Bent. Tickets to the show--which is being presented by Kansas City radio station 98.9 The Rock, go on sale Saturday (9/23) at 10 a.m. Central Time.

The show will be part of a major Manson tour that will open on Oct. 27, Manson said in a strange video announcement recently posted to his official website.

Tickets for the 14th Annual Bridge School Benefit, to take place on Oct. 28 and 29 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif., hit the market at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on Sunday (9/24). The line-up for each day will include event mainstay Neil Young as well as Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Dave Matthews Band, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beck, Foo Fighters and Tegan & Sara.

Quick sell-outs are the general rule for the event, which raises money for programs geared toward children with severe speech or physical impairments. Bridge School concerts are traditionally of the acoustic variety.

Stone Temple Pilots, who have been on the road since late May, continue to make up for time the band lost when frontman Scott Weiland was imprisoned on drug-related charges. The band’s current tour itinerary stretches through early November. STP on-sales are planned for 10 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday for upcoming shows in Charlotte, N.C., Toledo, Ohio, and Fairfax, Va.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale at 9 a.m. Mountain Time on Saturday for the band’s Nov. 3 stop in the Salt Lake City area. Tickets for that show will be sold through Smith’s Tix outlets.

Grateful Dead offshoot Ratdog will open its fall tour in mid-October, and tickets have already gone on sale in several markets and through the Grateful Dead’s mail order ticketing program. Several new on-sales are set for Friday (for shows in San Diego, Calif., and Portland, Maine) and Sunday (for shows in Lawrence, Kan., Denver, Phoenix and Las Vegas).

Vulgar cartoon rockers Slipknot recently called off their North American tour plans in order to rest and to record new material, but the band is still scheduled to play a Nov. 1 show at Electric Factory in Philadelphia.
