If it were up to George Strait , chances are good that American auto manufacturers would get a government rescue package--especially Chevrolet. The Country Music Hall of Famer is clearly a fan of the brand, given the number of mentions Chevys get in his songs.
Strait has been making a name for himself with his unique brand of Western swing, honky-tonk and traditional country music since 1975. The artist's accolades include a pair of CMA Entertainer of the Year awards, and an ACM Entertainer of the Year nod. He's had the most Number One hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts of any artist in history; at last count the tally was 56. Most recently, the Country Music Association selected Strait's 2008 release, "Troubadour," as Best Album of the Year.
Fans will next get a chance to see Strait live beginning in May in his home state of Texas. LiveDaily's Tim Mosenfelder attended his concert in Oakland, CA, in the spring of this year, and here are some photos of the singer in action.
