Briefly: Kennedy Center Honors, CDnow Sued, Spice Girls, SHeDAISY, Survivor And "Survivor"

The Kennedy Center announced that it will honor Chuck Berry and Placido Domingo this year.

Webnoize reported that CDnow has been hit with a class-action lawsuit that claims, among other things, that the online music retailer misled shareholders and failed to disclose that it could not survive without a merger.

Spice Girls announced today that their third album, due in the U.K. on Nov. 6, will be called "Forever". It will be preceded by the single "Holler Holler/Let Love Lead the Way" on Oct. 23.

SHeDAISY has scheduled a Sept. 26 release for its holiday album "Brand New Year."

The band Survivor , best known for the "Rocky III" theme song "Eye of the Tiger," is suing to prevent the word "Survivor" from being used as the title of the soundtrack of the TV show "Survivor," Reuters reported. Joke if you will--LiveDaily Briefly already has--but the confusion that Survivor presumably hopes to avoid is not an invalid concern: the "Survivor" soundtrack is currently listed on Amazon as a Survivor CD titled "TV Soundtrack," meaning that, in theory, a Survivor fan who wants to spend $15 on a Survivor CD could end up spending that $15 on the "Survivor" soundtrack. Like we said, joke if you will.

"Survivor" is kind of a weird word. Look at it:

survivor
