Jewel has announced plans to play seven dates in the Western U.S. next month, according to her website. Five of the upcoming shows will feature her performing a solo acoustic set.
On Sept. 8, Jewel is scheduled to perform at San Diego’s Street Scene festival. That show will feature the singer backed by her full band, as will a Sept. 23 date at the Western Washington State Fair.
From there, she is scheduled to perform five shows--two in Saratoga, Calif., one in Visalia, Calif. and two at Caesar’s Tahoe in Nevada--that will find her alone and unplugged.
In addition to her upcoming concert dates, Jewel can also be seen on television on Aug. 27 during the airing of “Jewel: A Life Uncommon,” a documentary about the singer. The broadcast is free, but will only be transmitted on Comcast Cable, a company that provides cable service in 23 states.
Jewel’s most recent release is her 1999 Christmas album “Joy: A Holiday Collection.” That disc was the follow-up to 1998’s “Spirit.”
