Goo Goo Dolls Set Brief Fair Tour

The Goo Goo Dolls , who have been on the road with few breaks over the last two years, have announced a seven-city tour of U.S. fairgrounds that begins on Aug. 28 in Pueblo, Colo.

Volunteers from USA Harvest, a nationwide food delivery organization, will be collecting canned and other non-perishable food items at the shows. The food will then be delivered to local soup kitchens, shelters and other social service agencies in each market.

USA Harvest has collected more than 600,000 pounds of food at Goo Goo Dolls concerts since March 1999, according to a press release issued by the band on Tuesday (8/1).

The Goos continue to tour behind the album “Dizzy Up the Girl,” which has occupied a slot on the Billboard 200 album chart for nearly two years.

The Goo Goo Dolls re-launched their official website in July. The site, updated daily, features news and information about the band including tour dates, television appearances, announcements, downloads and other features. Lyrics from all six of the band’s albums are also published on the site.
