Chiodos, Silverstein team for fall co-headlining run

Alt-rockers Chiodos and Silverstein will join forces this fall for an extensive co-headlining run, with fellow post-hardcore outfit Escape the Fate also joining the trek.

The tour kicks off Oct. 10 in Detroit and runs through mid-November, with 30 cities lined up for the outing, which visits most major US metropolitan areas during its five-week run.

Chiodos continue to work the road on their own headlining schedule, which continues tomorrow (8/16) in Poplar Grove, IL. The band also has a joint outing with Motion City Soundtrack lined up for September, as well as a few other scattered North American appearances. Aside from the co-headlining trek, Silverstein shows only one other current date, an Oct. 3 appearance at Burlington, Ontario's BroFest, a benefit festival for local musicians presented and sponsored in part by the group itself.

Chiodos continue to support last year's "Bone Palace Ballet," the group's sophomore offering on Equal Vision Records, which followed 2005's "All's Well That Ends Well." A couple of songs from the set are streaming at the band's MySpace page.

The band recently announced plans for a special edition of the CD. Due later this year, the set will include an as-yet undisclosed number of new songs as well as a 30-minute preview of the band's planned concert DVD, which it hopes to release in early 2009.

Canadian rockers Silverstein continue to tour behind their third studio album, "Arrivals & Departures," which hit stores last summer. The set, produced by Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182), shot to the top of Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart and reach No. 25 on The Billboard 200. Streaming samples can be found at the band's MySpace page.

The band recently announced on its official website that it would be entering a recording studio following its fall touring commitments to begin work on a follow-up to "Arrivals."
