Emerging singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles has added a new string of fall headlining dates to her busy tour schedule.
The performer is currently on the road with Counting Crows and Maroon 5 , and will spend a week in Europe next month before launching her North American fall outing Oct. 9 in San Diego. The tour, which features special guests Marc Broussard and folk-rock band Raining Jane , will cover nearly 20 cities across the US and stop in Vancouver. Bareilles' full North American itinerary is listed below.
The fall trek is the singer/pianist's second set of headlining dates to support her Gold-certified Epic Records debut, "Little Voice," which surfaced last summer and made a steady climb into the Top 10 on the US album chart. The record's lead single, "Love Song," got a boost from Bareilles' appearance in a commercial for the Rhapsody music service and remains No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart after 29 weeks. The followup single, "Bottle It Up," is currently making its way up the pop charts.
Those tunes and a few others from the album are streaming at Bareilles' MySpace page.
In a recent MySpace blog posting, the songstress told fans that the independent record she released in 2004, "Careful Confessions," is being reissued.
"'Careful Confessions' is, in a lot of ways, very different from the music we make now, but I am equally as proud of this record as I am of 'Little Voice,'" Bareilles wrote. "It was made with the same level of commitment and dedication, and the rough edges are there because that's who I am."
The performer also revealed that her July 12 performance at San Francisco's Fillmore was filmed for her first concert DVD.
