O.A.R. preps for long summer trek

Veteran college-rock favorites O.A.R. are set to launch a long summer tour behind their latest studio set, "All Sides," which hit stores earlier this week.

The band's tour begins tonight (7/18) in St, Louis, MO, the first of nearly 40 dates the group has lined up on a tour that extends into October. After its Midwestern start, the outing will move to the East Coast for a mid-summer run before finishing up in the South.

Ticketing information for specific dates can be found at the band's website, and the complete itinerary is included below.

"All Sides," which hit stores July 15, is O.A.R.'s sixth studio album and first since 2005's "Stories of a Stranger." The group plans on unveiling the new set's material during the upcoming tour.

"We're not playing any of the new songs until this summer tour starts," frontman Marc Roberge told LiveDaily recently. "We're trying to keep it under wraps until we can get them all rehearsed and ready to go.

"[Plus] you know what happens: you start playing these songs and road testing them out there and people get their own idea of what they enjoy about the song. Then they get the record and they don't necessarily connect with it. They're connecting with the version you played a few months ago. What we're trying to do is get the kinks out privately during soundchecks so that when we do start playing them, they're really consistent with the record and really consistent with where we're at currently."
