Vanessa Carlton heads out with Joshua Radin

Singer/songwriter/pianist Vanessa Carlton continues to support her latest release, "Heroes & Thieves," with an opening slot on Joshua Radin's summer tour.

Carlton has an Iowa festival and a California show with Chris Isaak this month before she heads out with Radin for a coast-to-coast US trek that launches July 15 in Tucson, AZ. The Grammy-nominated songstress will stick with that tour through Aug. 10, playing a few of her own shows along the way. Her itinerary is listed below.

Carlton surprisingly hooked up with Irv Gotti's hip-hop label, The Inc. Records, to release "Heroes & Thieves" last October. The singer became Gotti's first new signing after he joined forces with Universal Motown Records in 2006. Though the two come from completely different worlds, Gotti was taken by Carlton's voice and she was thrilled by his enthusiasm and vision.

The singer, best known for her 2002 hit single "A Thousand Miles," has said "Heroes & Thieves" is "the best batch of songs I've ever written." The set, which reached No. 44 on The Billboard 200, was co-produced by Carlton, Gotti, Third Eye Blind's Stephan Jenkins and Linda Perry, and features Stevie Nicks on the song "The One."

Singer/songwriter Radin is expected to preview material from his forthcoming album during the outing. He recently released a four-song, pre-album teaser titled "Unclear Sky" on iTunes.
