Canadian alt-pop act Tegan & Sara will return to the US this fall for another run of dates behind the pair's most recent studio set, last year's "The Con."
The duo--consisting of identical twin sisters Tegan and Sara Quin--launch the outing with a Sept. 20 appearance at San Diego's Street Scene event. The first headlining date on the trek comes Sept. 30 in Atlanta, and the 12-city run closes with four consecutive concerts (9/16-19) at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles.
The pair has a few shows remaining on its current European run. Information on those dates can be found at Tegan & Sara's official website.
The twins' fifth studio album, "The Con" was co-produced by the sisters and Chris Walla, and features special guests including Jason McGerr of Death Cab for Cutie, Matt Sharp of The Rentals and Hunter Burgan of AFI, according to the band's bio. A couple of songs from the record are streaming at Tegan & Sara's MySpace page.
"I felt like a theme for the whole record, for me, was this idea that there's this duality to our existence," Tegan Quin told LiveDaily during a recent interview. "There's all the stuff that happens inside of us and all the stuff that happens outside. That's the quick summary. It's a bit of a con--not necessarily conning other people, but conning ourselves."
"The Con" follows 2004's "So Jealous," which landed on Rolling Stone's Top 50 Records of the Year list.
