KT Tunstall adds fall tour dates
Scottish singer/songwriter KT Tunstall will follow her current acoustic run of North American dates with a second US leg later this summer.
The performer, who continues her current trek tonight (5/16) in Chicago, will launch the summer outing Aug. 4 in Northampton, MA. Singer/songwriter Martha Wainwright will provide opening support for all of the mid-summer shows.
Tunstall is touring behind "Drastic Fantastic," which hit stores last September. She again worked with producer Steve Osbourne (U2, New Order), who also handled production duties on her 2004 debut, "Eye to the Telescope."
"With 'Drastic Fantastic,' what I really wanted to do was enjoy making it a little more complex than the first one," the singer told LiveDaily recently. "So the instrumentation and the arrangements are really satisfying on this second album, whereas, I wasn't even really thinking about it on the first one. It was very simply presenting the songs I had written.
"On this one, there's a bit more guitar-solo work, there's a couple of string arrangements, there's a lot of work going into backing vocals and general instrumentation on the tunes. It was great fun to do that."
