Bon Jovi adds Boston to tour finale

Boston has been tacked on to the final round of US cities that Bon Jovi will play to close out its Lost Highway World Tour.

The rockers have booked a two-night stand July 9-10 at Beantown's TD Banknorth Garden, and tickets are scheduled to go on sale Monday (5/19).

Bon Jovi, which launched the massive trek last September with a 10-show engagement in Newark, NJ, finished its latest US run earlier this month. The band will dive into a five-week European tour next week and then return to North America for a handful of July performances to mark the end of road.

Final dates include a stop in Sarnia, Ontario, a return to the Detroit area following a sold-out performance earlier this year, and a two-nighter at New York City's Madison Square Garden. Jon Bon Jovi recently told Sports Illustrated that the grand finale will take place at NYC's Central Park, but that date has yet to be announced.

The All American Rejects will open the July shows, which are detailed below. Information about overseas dates can be found at Bon Jovi's website.

The veteran rockers have been hard at work backing their latest release, "Lost Highway," which debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 last July and spawned the hit "(You Want To) Make a Memory." The Nashville-tinged set is the band's ninth album of original material and its first chart-topper since 1988's "New Jersey." It follows 2005's platinum-selling "Have a Nice Day," which spawned the Grammy-winning duet "Who Says You Can't Go Home" with Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles.

In November, Bon Jovi released the DVD "Lost Highway: The Concert," which captures the band performing the album in its entirety during a Chicago concert last summer.
