Beck plots summer full of festival dates

Beck has filled out a busy summer tour schedule filled with festival appearances on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as a few headlining gigs.

The singer/songwriter will play three large US outdoor events, kicking off with an Aug. 22 slot at San Francisco's three-day Outside Lands festival. Later in the month, Beck will tackle an Aug. 30 appearance at Seattle's Bumbershoot, followed by a Sept. 27 showing at Austin, TX's Austin City Limits.

The performer also has a heavy schedule of work lined up overseas, with appearances scheduled at several large European festivals. US dates are shown below, and Beck's complete international itinerary is available at his website.

In addition to the festival work at home and abroad, Beck will find time for a pair of domestic headlining dates. The first stop will be an Aug. 24 show in Bend, OR, with Cold War Kids opening. Tickets go on sale May 3. On Sept. 20, the singer will play the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, with Spoon supporting. Tickets for that show go on sale May 10.

Beck continues to tour behind 2006's "The Information," his seventh major-label studio album, and the follow-up to 2005's "Guero." The singer once again worked with producer Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, U2) on the disc, which peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart.

A deluxe edition of "The Information" hit stores last year. Originally released as a single CD in October of 2006, the deluxe version comprises three discs: one audio CD containing the original set's 15 songs, as well as three bonus tracks; a second audio CD featuring remixes of several cuts; and a DVD housing homemade videos for each of the album's songs.

Harp Magazine reported in March that Beck was working on a follow-up to "The Information" with producer Danger Mouse, one half of Gnarls Barkley.
